Pump
A sculpture based on the mosquito proboscis set into the ground of the Garston Garden, like a time capsule. It points directly to the last surviving vestige of the old building – the portico – and contains references to both organic life (whether plant, human, or microscopic) and the mechanical.
A panoramic soundscape by Chris Watson, composed from archive sound footage of rainforests around the world, surrounds the central sculpture.
